Pablo Picasso Painting Breaks Record For Most Expensive Artwork Sold At Auction

A painting by Spanish painter Pablo Picasso, well known for his work during the modern art movement of the 20th century, has set a new world record for the most expensive artwork to be sold at auction after reaching $179 million in New York. The painting ‘Women of Algiers’ (Version O) had been expected to exceed $140 million before the auction but the final price surpassed those estimates at Christie’s auction house.
