A firefight, fire and explosion rocked a quiet retirement community in Brentwood, New Hampshire on Monday.

A New Hampshire police officer was involved in a shooting at a home in Brentwood, just before a fire and explosion destroyed the house May 12 afternoon.

A neighbor reports that an officer responding to the dispute entered the home and was shot.

Police reportedly then arrested the elderly homeowner, believing him to be the shooter.

As police investigated further however, a gun battle broke out and witnesses said the shooter was actually the son, Mike Nolan.

A fire in the house then broke out and as the flames raged, the second floor of the house exploded in a fireball that was caught on TV news cameras.

Mike Nolan was reportedly still inside the house at the time of the explosion. No details are known as to his condition.
