We've reached that period of time between Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference where the newest updates to iOS, the underlying operating system that powers iPhones were showed off, and the annual fall unveiling of the new hardware that will usher in a new generation of phones to covet.

Yes, The Apple 'silly season' has arrived.

Apple showed us iOS 8, which is the biggest release of iOS yet, and will more extensible, open and powerful than ever. Many believe this is Tim Cook's hand showing, because Steve Jobs probably would never want to open up the system as much. With that in mind, the rumor mill is churning hard on what amazing new form factors Apple could release iOS8 onto.

One huge leak today comes from the Japanese site Nikkei, which is the Wall Street Journal of Japan. Nikkei reports that one of the next iPhone models will be taller and wider than the current iPhone 5s. Also, the possibility exists that there will be two models: 5.5 inches and a smaller one at 4.7 inches.

Other possible features include a curved display like the LG Flex, Optical Image Stabilization in the camera system, and -- for a slight flourish -- the glowing apple logo we all know from the Macbook line could make an appearance on the iPhone for the first time.

Of course these are all rumors, so we'll just have to keep waiting until the fall when Apple shows off the goods. One thing is certain though: expect there to be lines out the wazoo for whatever Apple decides to release, as usual.
