Christine Saunders, 45, from Fyffe, Alabama, was arrested last weekend for allegedly stealing a horse from a field, riding it to a nearby store, then trying to shoplift items from that store.
DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris said police were called to the shop where they found Saunders intoxicated and carrying items belonging to the shop. They also found the horse tied up outside, with three cans of Keystone Light beer tied to the saddle horn inside a Walmart bag.
Saunders apparently tried to steal more beer and other items inside the store.
She was arrested for public intoxication and possession of a prohibited beverage. However, the sheriff said she was likely to face more charges.
The horse was returned to its owner, who is not pressing charges.
