A spider got the best of one Seattle man when he found out why fire and pest control don't mix.

Apparently letting his arachnophobia get the best of him (or just being too cheap to go and pick up a can of proper bug spray), the man kicked it up a notch by taking a can of spray paint, and doing exactly what the label says NOT to do; use a lighter to produce an open flame to spray it over, making the flammable liquid into a flamethrower.

The Darwin Award candidate caused 60,000 worth of damage to his apartment ... no word on whether or not the spider is alive.
