Shirtless man stuck in basketball hoop to protest Freddie Gray death in police custody - TomoNews

A crazy shirtless man stuck in a basketball hoop was the cherry on top of a riotous May Day cake in Seattle.

It is still unclear how the unidentified man managed to get himself all tangled up at the Cal Anderson basketball court in Capitol Hill, Seattle. Was he a protester or just some random nut? And why was he holding a hammer?
The man thrashed about as more than a dozen police officers swarmed around him in fear he would fall head first to his death.

He apparently did not want their help, judging from the way he was swinging his hammer - and his Houdini stunts.

Finally, two firefighters arrived at the scene with a ladder. He was freed from the net and then handcuffed on the ground. Ah, the irony.

Seattle Police still have not released information regarding the man's arrest.
