When Jamie Lesser was a young boy, “Strictly Ballroom” was his most favorite movie. Life for him now is very mundane. One night, after receiving a raise, he tries to rekindle his love for salsa dancing at the local Salsa dancing club. Here, he is infatuated by a Dominican girl, Melissa. However, when Melissa suddenly breaks up with him, he returns to his former lonely and bleak life which soon becomes chaotic with him losing his job, apartment and self-esteem. He finally ends up with his sister on whose insistence he joins salsa classes and tries to follow his long lost dreams. The movie shows how it is never too late to pursue one’s dreams. Watch it for its wonderful script and strong performances.
