Dumb accident: Pre-teen nearly burned alive after father uses GASOLINE to heal her burn wounds

A little girl from China’s southern Guangdong province whom local media have nicknamed “Ally”, suffered severe third degree burns over 60 percent of her body.
Ally’s been in the burn ICU of a hospital in the city of Foshan for the last 3 months. She whispers softly from her bed: “When the nurses change the gauze my skin will tear and bleed. It hurts a lot.”
Back in September when Ally was preparing for a bath she accidently spilled scalding hot water on her left foot. A village neighbor somehow managed to convince her parents that if they rubbed gasoline on the burns, Ally’s foot would heal faster.
Her father next poured out half a cup of gasoline from his scooter, so that Ally’s mother could rub it on her injured leg.
Unfortunately, Ally and her mother were sitting nearby a furnace. The heat ignited the fumes and turned the 12-year-old girl into a walking human torch. Ally’s father tried dousing out the flames as quickly as he could, but the damage had already been done.
Ally and her mother were both taken to the hospital with severe burns. Ally’s mother suffered second degree burns on her calf and it took her a week to regain the ability to walk.
But Ally suffered the brunt of the damage. Doctors say it may be another 5 months before she’s able to walk as all four of her limbs and her lower torso were badly burned. The little girl suffered second and third degree burns over most of her body.
As if it needed to be said… doctors say that burn wounds are in fact NOT best treated with alcohol, gasoline or salt. The best thing to do is to pour cold water over the wounds as soon as possible.
