Scream street performer with pocket knife gunned down in front of Hollywood tourists

Police in Los Angeles shot a man along a popular section of Hollywood Boulevard Friday night in front of dozens of onlookers.
The man’s identity has not been released, but witnesses said he was a street performer who often dressed up as the villain from ‘Scream’ to take pictures with tourists.
The shooting occurred at the corner of Hollywood Blvd and Highland Ave, a popular location for tourists and street performers, around 7 p.m.
Witness photos and videos taken moments after the shooting reveal a young white man wearing all black, slumped on the ground at the intersection’s northwest corner.
The L.A. police department later tweeted a picture of a pocket knife, which they said the man was wielding at the time of the shooting. Whether the man used the knife to threaten police remains unclear.
Citizens gathered in the same area the following day to protest police brutality, but a spokesperson said the demonstration had already been scheduled before the shooting took place.
