Robber gets beat down by Toronto restaurateur with Canadian hockey fighting moves

Canadian restaurant owner Aaron Barberian managed to fend off a mugger who attacked him in broad daylight in a populous downtown Toronto area Monday morning.
Barberian, owner of Barberian’s Steak House on Elm Street, was assaulted from behind as he was about to enter the restaurant carrying a register cash till. Surveillance cameras installed in his shop captured the entire incident.
The assailant is seen in the footage approaching Barberian as he walks down the street towards the restaurant. The robber attempts to take money from him, but instead is counter-attacked, grabbed and thrown into the ground multiple times.
The two wrestled across the street as another man, Barberian’s employee, rushed out from the restaurant to help.
As Barberian’s belongings and cash scattered around on the ground, some passersby were kind enough to help pick up his things and return them. One woman, however, also seen in the video, runs out to steal his cellphone.
In an interview, Barberian called the woman a “true thief,” adding that what she did was “a conscious theft.” Meanwhile, Barberian showed sympathy for the robber, whom he said was an unfortunate soul that needed help.
The suspect remains at large as the Toronto police continues to investigate into the case.
