AirAsia QZ8501: debris and possible human body found near plane’s last known location

Authorities are 95 percent certain that debris found near missing AirAsia Flight QZ8501’s last known location is part of the missing jet, the Straits Times reported Indonesia’s Search and Rescue Agency chief as saying.
The debris was spotted about 10 kilometres from the last known location of the plane, about 160 km southwest of Pangkalan Bun, the Straits Times reported.
The objects reportedly resemble a passenger door, life vest, luggage and a human body, the Straits Times reported. The sea floor in the area is up to 30 metres deep. Divers have been deployed.
There were seven other planes nearby Flight QZ8501 at the time of the disappearance, including two other AirAsia planes. Flight QZ8501 was flying at 32,000 feet, lower than other airliners. Before contact was lost, the pilot requested to fly up to 38,000 feet but was denied as there was another plane at that altitude. Five minutes later, Flight QZ8501 disappeared from radar, the Straits Times reported.
