Nose job gone wrong: toddler performs DIY surgery to fix flat nose, puts squid cartilage up nostrils

Last week in Thailand, a mother brought her 3-year-old daughter to the hospital to treat a severe nose infection.
The mother explained that her daughter thought her nose was too flat, so apparently one night while the family was barbecuing, the toddler made off with a small squid. The little girl pulled the cartilage core from the squid and put two pieces into her nose.
The next day the mother noticed that her daughter’s nose was bleeding and wouldn’t stop. She also noticed a strange smell. So the mom got a flashlight to check her daughter’s nose and was shocked to discover the strange pieces of cartilage up the child’s nose.
After removing the bloody pieces of connective tissue the mother took her daughter to hospital.
Doctors were in turn shocked to hear that a 3-year-old child would be so insecure about her nose that she would attempt to give herself a nose job.
Netizens speculate it was because the parents or other relatives made a big deal over the little girl’s nose being too flat. Some parents have even been known to pinch their children’s noses, believing that this will make their noses less flat.
But that would’ve definitely been less painful than a botched DIY surgery like this one!
