Dimanche midi, un enfant de l'école primaire a vu sa grand-mère est attaqué et étranglée par un homme qu'elle a reconnu.
Elle se précipita dans la maison d'un voisin pour demander l'aide. L'enfant de 9 ans vivait avec sa grand-mère âgée de 60 ans, Kimiko Shimotani, d'Osaka, au japon.
Lorsque la police est arrivée sur les lieux, Shimotani a été retrouvée morte sur le plancher de sa cuisine.
La police a lancé une recherche pour retrouver l'assassin, le suspect suspect, Yutaka Inoue de34 ans, a dit qu'il était un ami du fils de la victime, et s'est livré au commissariat central de Hiroshima plus tard le même jour.
