Laughing injuries: Man bursts lung from laughing too hard, torso fills with air

In Zhejiang, located along China’s eastern coast, a man was forced to take a two week leave from work for medical reasons.
The man, nicknamed Xiao Yang, age 26, was watching a popular TV series called “Hurry Up, Brother” a Chinese variety show based on the original South Korean series “Running Man”.
Xiao Yang watched three episodes back to back and said he laughed until his sides hurt.
However, the following morning Xiao Yang’s sides still hurt. Well, his right side, and it hurt to breathe. The pain didn’t lessen and after another day Xiao Yang decided to go see a doctor.
After examining the young man, the doctor informed Xiao Yang, that he had laughed so hard he had literally burst his lung. Xiao Yang had burst part of the outer layer of his right lung and air had been escaping through the tear into his chest cavity.
Doctors immediately put Xiao Yang on a heavy regimen of antibiotics and performed a minorly invasive surgery to repair the tear in his lung, as well as release the air inside his chest cavity.
Now Xiao Yang will need two weeks of rest with no running, heavy lifting, or laughing.
Talk about laughing until it hurts.
