Home invasion: 77-year-old grandma Mary Finch uses hammer to defend herself against robber

Growing up, I was taught to never ever underestimate the power of old folks, and 77-year-old Mary Finch of Birmingham, Alabama just proved why you shouldn’t.
Last Monday around 6 a.m. she was asleep in her bed in the home that she’s lived in for the last 52 years when some thug barged in on her. Finch tried to defend herself but was overpowered. She spied a hammer on her end table and grabbed it.
Finch told the man not to fool with her. He thought she was joking.
Homie, old folks don’t joke while they’re holding hammers.
Finally realizing he wasn’t gonna get anything but an asswhooping, he knocked her out and ran outside.
That’s where he shot and carjacked a neighbor and fled the scene.
Both Finch and her neighbor were hospitalized and discharged with minor injuries. The only thing Finch regrets is not knocking him upside his head with the hammer.
