House Fire then Homeless: Family of 7 loses home to fire when child plays with lighter

These five children just lost their home this week in a fire and their grandfather lost his business.
Grandpa Lai is well over the retirement age, but he lost his vision 20 years ago in a car accident, so he’s still working as a masseuse on the second floor of this building. His wife and their 5 grandchildren live with them on the third floor of the same building.
Grandpa Lai’s son, the father of his 5 grandchildren, is a deadbeat and wants to have nothing to do with his family. He doesn’t even pay support. The mother of the five children is even scarcer than her philandering husband. But, that’s not the kids’ fault.
According to firefighters it appears that during the night after everyone had gone to bed one of the granddaughters got up in the middle of the night. Crouched in the corner she began lighting bits of tissue with a lighter until she accidentally set the curtains ablaze.
When the grandparents awoke and found their home aflame they rushed to get everyone out of the building. The blind grandfather was trapped on the second floor when he stopped to grab the cash box from the massage parlor, neighbors were able to catch him when he jumped out of a second story window.
Grandpa Lai explains he has no idea what they will do now, he, his wife, and their five grandchildren relied on the money he made from his massage business.
Neighbors offered household necessities and clothing, but first the Lai family will need to figure out where they’ll be sleeping.
