Cat on a hood: photos of a leashed cat riding on top of a Buick spur animal cruelty debate in Ohio

Police in New Philadelphia, Ohio are investigating a clawful photo of a cat riding on the hood of a moving car.
Polly Vandall posted three pictures of the pawsitively bizarre incident to her Facebook page, and the photos quickly went viral.
“I looked over and glanced to my left and thought, ‘Is that a cat on the hood?’” Vandall told WKYC.
Vandall’s ‘catllection’ of photos also spurred a heated debate on social media.
“Glad I don’t know this nut! Animal abuser!” one furryous Facebook user wrote under the original post.
"I wish someone got a picture of the license plate,” said Police Chief Michael Goodwin. “It’s a very bizarre case, unclear if it would violate animal cruelty laws.”
Footage also surfaced of the ‘cathletic’ feline still riding on the hood of the Buick as the couple pulled up to a gas station.
Anyone with information on the driver is asked to ‘pawlease’ call New Philadelphia police.
