On today's show we have an update from the Himalayas and The Social takes a look at the ever-present bolting debate.
Italian Simone Moro and his climbing partner Tamara Lunger are attempting to make a Winter ascent of Manaslu, the World’s 8th highest mountain. In the process, they also hope to summit the mountain's East Pinnacle which stands at the height of 7992 metres.
Over in Pakistan, the race for the long sought after first winter ascent of Nanga Parbat continues. Like on Manaslu, conditions are very snowy and the international team of Daniele Nardi and Alex Txikon are currently awaiting a viable weather window. Nanga Parbat is one of only two 8000 metre peaks never to have been climbed in winter, so if conditions improve and the guys succeed, it will be a frankly historic achievement.
