US: No police drug patrols in white neighborhoods

4 years ago6 views

The recent fatal shooting of black teen Tony Robinson in Madison, Wisconsin, has sparked more protests against police violence in cities throughout the United States. At last Friday's Washington DC City Council hearing on police oversight, testimonies were given on different police tactics used in different kinds of neighborhoods. At issue is the "jump out" tactic. Young people from Black and Latino communities report that police routinely jump out of unmarked cars and search them. There is no record of this tactic being used in white communities. Alexandra Hall reports from Washington DC for teleSUR
