Hermit - Monty Python's Life Of Brian

Monty Python
Monty Python
Monty Python’s most controversial film, “Life of Brian” tells the story of Brian Cohen (Graham Chapman), an average young Jewish man, who through a series of ridiculous events, gains a reputation as the Messiah. When he's not dodging his followers or being scolded by his shrill mother (Terry Jones), the hapless Brian has to contend with the pompous Pontius Pilate (Michael Palin) and acronym-obsessed members of a separatist movement. Rife with Monty Python's signature absurdity, the tale finds Brian's life paralleling Biblical lore, albeit with many more laughs. The film opened to much objections, with pickets and protests on the opening day in NY, London and elsewhere, and it was banned in several locales, including Ireland and the Deep South of America.
