Mere Apney' is a story of a father and mother who have dedicated all their energies and resources on their children's upbringing. They feel blessed to have three sons and a daughter, who would be a source of strength and support in their old age. But when the responsibilities of taking care of the family are put on the children's shoulders, instead of supporting their parents they leave them in despair. The loving father becomes so heartbroken that his ego takes over his personality and the already shattered relations grow further apart.
