Barcelona, Feb 2 (EFE).- Argentine forward Lionel Messi did not show up at Barcelona's training session on Monday, following the team's 3-2 victory against Villareal in this weekend's La Liga match.
Messi was the only player missing from Monday morning's session but the Catalan club said his absence was due to personal circumstances, and that he had obtained the club's permission.
According to the club's official website, Monday's session was the first this week as Barça prepares for it next game on Sunday against Athletic Club Bilbao at the New San Mamés stadium.
Meanwhile Monday, Brazilians Neymar, Alves and Douglas took part in individual exercises.
Neymar scored the first goal for Barcelona in Sunday's game against Villarreal.
