Galaxy S6 to Feature Mysterious “Special Function,” Samsung Says
  • 9 years ago
Samsung just reported another disappointing quarter for smartphone sales, but there may be some light at the end of the tunnel. Speaking during a recent conference call, the company hinted that the upcoming Galaxy S6 could offer some sort of “special function” to give it an edge over the competition, The Korea Herald reports.

Samsung didn’t refer to the device by name, instead describing plans to launch an “innovative premium handset.” It’s possible that special function the company is referring to could be the curved display we’re expecting to see on the rumored Galaxy S Edge. Samsung might also be referring to the swappable superpower-enabling back covers said to work with the Galaxy S6, or it might be some other feature we still haven’t heard of.

The Galaxy S6 is expected to offer all the latest hardware and software, including a Quad HD display, 4GB of RAM, an octa-core Exynos processor and a scaled back version of Samsung’s TouchWiz software running on top of Android 5.0 Lollipop. Despite all that, the company needs to offer something truly special if it wants to claw its way back to the top of the smartphone market. Hopefully, the Galaxy S6 can live up to the hype.
