Adi Godrej is one of the many business leaders attending this year's World Economic Forum in Davos. Speaking to FRANCE 24, the chairman of the Godrej Group, one of India's oldest and biggest family-owned conglomerates, praised the actions of Narendra Modi's government.
"The situation in India has changed dramatically after the election", he told FRANCE 24's Markus Karlsson. The new government "is very committed to reform and growth" and "is also very committed to raising the standard of living of the low-income Indian population". Most of the steps taken by Prime Minister Modi's government so far have been "very positive", he adds.
He also expects that by 2016-2017, India will overtake China’s growth rate to become the fastest-growing major economy in the world.
