Some 800 people packed Christ Tabernacle Church in Queens on Saturday to remember NYPD Officer Rafael Ramos.
Photos of the 40-year-old with his family marked the start of a series of emotional testimony to the life of a devoted family man whose time on this earth was cut short.
Vice President Joe Biden was among the dignitaries in attendance.
He spoke directly to the grieving mother of Ramos ... as a man who had lost his own child many years ago.
SOUNDBITE: VICE PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN SAYING:
"The time will come when Rafael's memory will bring a smile to your lips before it brings a tear to your eyes. That's when you know it's going to be OK. I know it's hard to believe it will happen but I promise you it will happen. My prayer for you is that it will come sooner rather than later.
