It's time to burn of that holiday strudel.. at least that's the case for those who turned out at this year's Roast Goose run in Berlin.
Even Santa came to burn off a little extra holiday cheer, despite a night of delivering presents around the globe.
(SOUNDBITE) (German) RUN LEADER DRESSED AS SANTA CLAUS, WOLFGANG PAECH, SAYING:
"I am exhausted. It's become 250 to 300 runners, at any rate. And, implausibly, I am happy: early this morning, 6.55am, when I left the house, it began to snow. So my snow machine worked."
And while the holiday season is a cornucopia of food and drink for many, one runner reminds us it's all about moderation.
(SOUNDBITE) (German) RUNNER DETLEF MEHLAU SAYING:
"So at any rate you should enjoy and drink in moderation. So don't have too many glasses. You can enjoy yourself with just sips."
Sound advice hard to stick to .. with cookies and mulled wine waiting for runners at the finish of the 10 kilometer trot.
