White House: Cyber attacks “serious national security matter”

The White House said that a recent cyber attack on Sony is being "treated as a serious national security matter," Press Secretary Josh Earnest told reporters on Thursday.
He added that the attack was made by a "sophisticated actor" and that it is being investigated by the FBI and the Department of Justice.
Asked if the attack was conducted by North Korea, as has circulated in some media reports, he said he was not prepared to ascribe any responsibility for the attack at this time.
