PM Abe's coalition wins Japan election

As workers count the final ballets, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's ruling coalition cruises to a big election win.
Most media exit polls show Abe's Liberal Democratic Party and its junior partner, the Komeito party, winning more than 317 seats in the 475-member lower house.
Such numbers would pave the way for another majority for Abe's government, despite a low voter turnout.
(SOUNDBITE) (Japanese) JAPANESE PRIME MINISTER, SHINZO ABE, SAYING:
"I am relieved that we have managed to continue our ruling coalition with the Komeito party. But at the same time this is also a great responsibility."
Many Japanese citizens say they are doubtful of Abe's strategy to end deflation and generate economic growth.
(SOUNDBITE) (Japanese) CHIZUKO FUJII, 65 YEAR OLD, TOKYO RESIDENT SAYING:
"The election took place without a clear focus, and no one knows what it is for, but it just had to happen. I think everyone is having a hard time what to do."
