Barcelona, Dec 9 (EFE).- Barcelona midfielder Rafinha Alcantara was absent from his team's Tuesday training session, a day ahead of the UEFA Champions League matchup against Paris Saint-Germain, where both teams will battle for the top spot in group F's standings.

Alcantara has come down with a virus, Barca's medical services announced.

The amount of time that it could take him to recover was not specified.

In any case, the Spanish-Brazilian player was going to be sidelined anyway on Wednesday due to a suspension.

All available players took part in the training session held on Tuesday morning at the Sant Joan Despi field, along with members from the youth team (Barca B) Munir El Haddadi and Sandro Ramirez.

Besides Rafinha and Thomas Vermaelen, who will be absent for a long time due to surgery, Barcelona coach Luis Enrique Martinez will also have to make do without the efforts of right-back Dani Alves, who is suspended, too.
