Ahmedabad: After people were hospitalised due to jaundice in Saraspur area in the city, Gujarat Chief Secretary D J Pandian along with city Municipal Commissioner D Thara visited the patients and announced free treatment and medicines to these patients. Several poor families rushed to Shardaben Hospital seeking free treatment but they end up paying high prices the other end. Patients kin claimed that instead of free treatment and medicines, they are forced to pay high prices for medicines which are not available in the hospital. Opposition too slammed the administration. People are left outraged.
