The face of the rebellion, Katniss Everdeen, is back and she's tough than ever.
"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1" scores the year's biggest U.S. opening with $123 million in North American ticket sales this weekend.
It's the first of two films that will conclude the beloved Hunger Games series -- and could possibly put an end to a flamboyant, yet authoritarian government.
"Mockingjay" has all the elements to blaze through another solid week of ticket sales.
Unlike the Hunger Games characters, "Big Hero 6" stars a cartoon kid and his plush robot.
But balloon man is anything but deflated -- he's won over hearts and minds, and helped place this Disney film second at the box office.
"Interstellar" takes on third this week with $15.1 million in ticket sales.
Matthew McConaughey, Michael Caine and Anne Hathaway are the stars of this solar system -- working to save mankind by transporting the world's population to a new home.
