Bolivia police rescue two alleged robbers from mob lynching

Two alleged robbers are mobbed by infuriated residents of an El Alto, Bolivia neighborhood...
after a man says he caught them trying to steal his vehicle.
The alleged robbers are tied to a basketball post and beaten.
Earlier, Ramiro Quispe tried to proclaim his innocence.
(SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) RAMIRO QUISPE, ALLEGED CAR THIEF AND RAPIST, SAYING:
"I went out and they confused me for the robbers, they haven't found anything in my vehicle and they burned it without reason."
But the crowd doesn't believe him.
One woman claims to have been raped by Quispe.
