A piece of Hollywood history is up for grabs.

James Cagney's best actor Oscar, which he won for his 1942 film "Yankee Doodle Dandy," is set for auction.

One of the preeminent stars of Hollywood's golden age, Cagney starred in more than 60 films, but won his only Oscar for "Yankee Doodle Dandy," in which he plays Vaudevillian legend George M. Cohan.

Auction Manager for Nate D. Sanders Auctions, Laura Yntema said they expect the statuette to fetch a big price tag when it's put up for sale on November 20.

SOUNDBITE: Auction Manager Laura Yntema, saying (English):

"If it's an Oscar like this, which is considered one of the best ones, James Cagney's Oscar, best actor Oscar for "Yankee Doodle Dandy," that one will command a really high price. We expect it to for at least 800,000 dollars."

It's incredibly rare that an Oscar comes up for sale.
