Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Should Convene A Meeting Of Heads Of Security Forces Immediately: Altaf Hussain

The Founder and Leader of MQM Mr Altaf Hussain warned PM Nawaz Sharif and his cabinet that the situation was deteriorating fast and there was a spike in blasts and suicide attacks in the country. The government lacks the intelligence resources and capacity to keep an eye on the situation.
He said this while talking to the Co-ordination Committee of MQM in London and Pakistan on telephone.
Mr Hussain urged PM Sharif to convene a meeting of the heads of security forces immediately. An ordinance should be passed to set up committees across Pakistan which should be entrusted to keep an eye on terrorists.
Members of the committee should be elected by local people and they should be divided into three teams for performing duties in shifts of eight hours in their respective areas. Members of these committees should be given armed licenses as well as they would not be able to fight with armed people empty handed.
Mr Hussain said that the Prime Minister and the federal cabinet should deliberate on my demand urgently and come up with a solid line of action. If my suggestion does not appear appropriate, they should find another solution as the army alone cannot solve these problems.
Mr Hussain directed the members of the Co-ordination Committee to give up their personal engagements in view of the Moharram processions.
He said that the Medical Aid Committee of the MQM should set up medical camps in order to handle any emergency situation. Experienced doctors and paramedical staff and ambulances should be present at the medical camps in order to provide timely medical assistance to the mourners.
Mr Hussain prayed Almighty Allah to bless the souls of the people who were killed in the suicide attack at the Wagah border. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
He appealed to the Punjab Government not to take recourse to any expediency in arresting the terrorists behind the barbaric suicide blast. Any expediency might save the government but it would ultimately lead the country on the verge of destruction.
