Cheers overnight from residents of rural, northeastern Pennsylvania ...a 7-week-long manhunt for fugitive Eric Frein had finally come to an end with his capture.
UNIDENTIFIED WOMAN SAYING:
"We all have children and we all were afraid to go outside, to do anything."
The 31-year-old survivalist is suspected of killing a Pennsylvania state trooper and wounding another in a sniper attack on September 12.
U.S. Marshals captured Frein around 6 pm Thursday just 35 miles south of where the ambush happened.
Residents in the area of the manhunt are breathing a collective sigh of relief.
UNIDENTIFIED WOMAN SAYING:
"I can't even explain what I'm feeling right now, this is awesome. We are so proud of our Pennsylvania state police …We give our whole life to them right now. "
UNIDENTIFIED WOMAN SAYING:
"They're our neighbors, they're our heart, they're our community, and just God bless all of them."
