It was a very British affair at the annual BAFTA Britannia Awards in Beverly Hills on Thursday night (October 30).

The event, which celebrates Britain's contribution to cinema in Hollywood, brought together a host of British acting talent with other international A-list stars.

Amongst the honourees were Dame Judi Dench and Emma Watson.

Dench, whose best known internationally for playing the head of MI6 in the Bond series, has recently been inundated with the same question after revealing her failing eyesight was impacting on her ability to read scripts and watch films.

SOUNDBITE: Dame Judi Dench on retirement, saying (English):

"No, I know, people like to say when are you retiring or when are you going to slow down, that's all very rude in my family, we don't say any of that. I think if I stop, it shall be like a car, I shall run out of petrol and fall over. So, I plan not to do that if possible."

Dench was later honoured with the Albert R. Broccoli
