U.S. Navy video shows air operations on the USS Carl Vinson to fight Islamic State

STORY: The U.S. Navy released new video on Thursday (October 30) showing air operations from aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson, aimed at fighting Islamic State in Syria and Iraq. The video was shot on Monday (October 27).

Sailors aboard the USS Carl Vinson conducted flight operations in the Gulf as part of what the U.S. military calls "Operation Inherent Resolve".

The San Diego-based aircraft carrier, the USS Carl Vinson, took over air operations and relieved the USS George H.W. Bush, in the Gulf on October 19.
