Dallas nurse becomes fourth Ebola patient discharged from Emory hospital

A Dallas nurse who contracted Ebola was released from Emory University Hospital in Atlanta on Tuesday after being found free of the virus and thanked God and her family for helping her recover.

She also thanked the health care professionals at Emory University Hospital and Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, where she was one of two nurses infected with Ebola after treating the first patient diagnosed with the disease in the United States.

"As a nurse and now as someone who has experienced what it's like to be cared for through a life-threatening illness, I am so appreciative and grateful for your exceptional skill, warmth and care," said nurse Amber Vinson, who looked vibrant at a news conference with the health workers who treated her.
