Typhoon Vongfong has now left Japon, leaving two people dead, one missing and nearly 100 injured.

Hundreds of thousands of people were urged to leave their homes over the long Bank Holiday weekend because of the risk of mud slides and flooding with heavy rain, notably, in the Fukushima region, scene of Japan’s nuclear disaster in 2011.
