Zeenat is a 1945 film directed by Syed Shaukat Hussain Rizvi starring Noor Jehan, Yakub, Majid, Himalayawala, and Karan Dewan. It was produced by Shirazali Hakim and Ramzanali S. Lakhani. The film’s story and dialogue was written by Wajahat Mirza Changezi. The music was composed by Meer Saheb and Hafiz Khan while the background music was provided by Rafique Ghaznavi.
Zeenat (Noor Jehan) is getting married to the youngest of the Hussain brothers, Sharafat. During the ceremony the horse tossed him down and was injured. He recovered overnight but got worse next day and passed away. Before his death he wrote about the night he passed with his new bride in his diary. The only person who knew this was Liaquat ( Yakub) who left the house with diary. Meanwhile Zeenat became pregnant and everybody doubted about her morality. She gave birth to a daughter, Sayida and Zeenat abandoned her in Sharafat's grave. The child has been picked up by Hakkim Sahib and took care of her. Sayida has grown up and her marriage has been fixed with Akhtar Hussain. The bridegrooms family realised that Hakim is not Sayida's real daughter. What will happen next? Will Akhtar marry Sayida?
