A painter, Flore has been suffering from Alzheimer's for several years. She has been "incarcerated" in two institutions specializing in the disease. The treatment she received there left her aphasic and mute. She no longer knew how to walk, eat, or smile. She became more and more violent, aggressive, and "unmanageable."
The doctors foresaw only one outcome: Flore needed to be put in a "secure" home.
Contrary to general opinion, her son, Jean-Albert Lièvre, and her daughter, Véronique, decide to accommodate her in the family home in Corsica, surrounded by an atypical team. There, step by step, month after month, over a year, Flore will literally spring back to life.
In this tale of an unhoped-for renaissance, we discover that the terrible disease can't be cured, but that we can learn to live with it.
