Obama thanks Congress for vote to aid Syrian rebels

STORY: At the annual congressional picnic, U.S. President Barack Obama thanks members for voting in favor of arming and training moderate Syrian rebels to combat Islamic State.
On Wednesday, the House of Representatives approved the measure authorizing the training plan until Dec. 11 by a vote of 273-156.
"I want in particular to thank Speaker Boehner and Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi for showing us that when it comes to America's National Security, America is united," Obama said.
