Westwood puts Scottish independence on the catwalk in a cool London Fashion Week

Alice Temperley presented a unique and relaxed Spring/Summer 2015 collection for London Fashion Week.
The collection was cool, calm and creative with models floating easily along the catwalk wearing flats, sporting loose fitting fabrics and a splash of summer pastels.
Powder blue and pastel pink are big on the Spring/Summer 2015 agenda, as is black and white.
The collection revealed a feel of ease and comfort it was also filled with fun summer prints, lightweight fabrics, eye-capturing patterns and smart tailoring.

The designer said:“We just hope that Scotland can be a model for future hope and development where we have a people’s democracy instead of only everything for profit and for business and for destruction,” Westwood – who has long been influenced by the nation’s historical costumes and iconography – sent her models down the runway wearing Yes badges, just to ensure the message was clear.
Sunday’s collection was as saucy as ever. There were beautifully-draped blouses and dresses, micro shorts, and sculpted evening gowns in summery floral prints.
Although she was born in Derbyshire to English parents, Westwood created her own Scottish clan and tartan for her ‘Anglomania’ Autumn/Winter fashion line in 1993.
