Tom Ford live-streams runway show for the first time

American designer Tom Ford's 2015 spring/summer collection was the final act on Monday (September 15) at London Fashion Week.

The designer, who live-streamed his show for the first time, ended the day with a dazzling array of skintight outfits including sequinned tops, dresses with mesh cut-out detailing and fringed leather jackets and skirts.

The live-streaming of Ford's catwalk show is a bold move for the designer who has in the past shown reluctance to embrace the digital trend which has helped make high-end fashion more accessible for shoppers.

Ford presentations were once limited to a select number of guests with mobile phones and social media virtually banned from revealing the new range.

But the global expansion of the Ford brand, which now has an international presence with 100 stores, has also led to the designer tapping into the digital world.

Everyone with access to the internet was able to follow the Tom Ford show in London as it happened.
