Professional Photographer & Adobe Certified Lightroom & Photoshop Expert Geoff Cable of the GC2 Photo Club takes you through the required DSLR camera set up plus both Lightroom and Photoshop methods for merging your photographs to create a stunning HDR image.

HDR, or High Dynamic Range, images are very popular today, an HDR image pops out at you in an attractive way.

The process of creating an HDR image begins by capturing the images needed. In this tutorial we show you how to set up your Nikon or Canon camera to take a range of shots - over-exposed, correctly exposed and under-exposed - then show you how you can blend them together into an HDR images using both Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.

Be creative with your choice of subjects to shoot for HDR, it's a great area of photography for experimenting different subjects in different lighting conditions.

It is essential to minimize post-shoot editing time, especially if you're a professional trying to make a profit. The less time you spend in your digital darkroom the more time you can spend on other money-making tasks.

It's amazing how many photographers we've met that have only a basic knowledge of the tools and techniques available to them when going out on a shoot. Given more of the essential knowledge every photographer has the ability to drastically reduce post editing time by using the camera and some good tricks to get more of the 'finished' image in-camera.

Getting more of the image right when you take the shot not only saves you workflow time in Lightroom or Photoshop, it also gives you that 'feel-good' sense of personal achievement and maximises your personal potential.

Here at GC2 Photo Club we like to introduce you to the little tips, tricks and workarounds that help you make the most from your camera, whether you be a Nikon or a Canon Photographer, giving you the tools to make informed decisions regarding how you plan your shoot.

Any tip or trick that introduces time-saving techniques without compromising quality is a great thing for the professional photographer and the hobby photographer alike.
