The Albula line between Thusis and St. Moritz in the Swiss canton of Graubuenden is rated by experts as one of the world's technically most demanding tracks.
The absolute climax is the Stretch from Berguen to Preda where the train has to master a climb of 1,350 feet along a distance of just 7.8 miles. The original architects solved the problem with five hairpin bendtunnels, 2 normal tunnels, 9 viaducts and 2 galleries.
We present this fascinating stretch of Swiss mountain railway in all it´s glory. Join us as we ride in the cab in summer and winter along a track whose scenery takes some beating. And last but not least we take our usual trip into the past, to recall the early days of this "dream line".
