PRADA FALL WINTER 2013 MEN S ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN BEHIND THE SCENE by FC
The menswear Prada campaign for next autumn has been conceived as a witty and enigmatic drama translated into a series of images by the skilled eye of the British photographer David Sims. He also shot last year's fall campaign, and Prada also eschewed models for that effort, instead casting the likes of Gary Oldman and Willem Dafoe.
The protagonists are three actors with three specific personality, style and background: Christoph Waltz, Ben Whishaw and Ezra Miller. The guys stage a play on contrasts, a duality of temperament and style that perfectly captures the stylistic choices of the modern man.
Each actor plays a distinct role, creating a trio of characters who bring their individual points of view and style to the collection, brought to life in the Behind The Scenes video by Sims. Christoph Waltz's character evokes a studied sense of elegance, Ben Whishaw presents an alternative carefree charm and Ezra Miller brings a youthful air of mystery.
The inspiration is the defiant attitude of the 60's Nouvelle Vague. The setting is provided by the interior featuring geometric pieces of furniture borrowed from the "Ideal House" that OMA Studio specifically designed to host the Prada Fall Winter 2013-14 menswear collection.
