Pacino ignores warnings about "The Humbling"

You'll be seeing a lot of this man at the Venice Film Festival this year.

That's because Al Pacino has two films showing.

"The Humbling" is an adaption of a Philip Roth novel.

Pacino plays the famous actor Simon Axler.

He thinks he's lost his ability to act and retires, only to find love with a young woman.

But Pacino was warned not to play a washed-up actor.

SOUNDBITE, Actor, Al Pacino, saying (English):

"I mean people have said to me, I mean fellow actors have said "I don't know, Al, what you're doing here doing this." I said "I don't know why." I see it in the distance and it's not me, it's just not me. I can try to understand what he's going through but it isn't. I have a knowledge of it, I have a knowledge of the world this guy comes from and the drudgery of it and the pain of it but it's not me."

The 74 year old star's been walking the red carpet and doing plenty of interviews at Venice.
