A full blown political war has broken out after the BJP's Uttar Pradesh unit passed a resolution cloaked with a divisive message. Though the BJP resolution omitted the word Love Jihad, the message was clear as the party claimed that most crimes against women in Uttar Pradesh were being committed by members of a particular community. The Congress has questioned the stand taken by the BJP.
