Unfortunately, I found very little information about this band. Carroll Dickerson (c. 1895 – October, 1957) was a Chicago and New York-based dixieland jazz violinist and bandleader, probably better known for his work with Louis Armstrong and Earl Hines or his more brief touring with King Oliver. The orchestra performed at the Savoy Ballroom in Chicago. They also toured the Pantages Vaudeville circuit. They also recorded under the name of Carroll Dickerson's Savoyagers. Besides leader Dickerson, the band consisted of Pete Briggs, Bass; Mancy Carr, Banjo; Bert Curry and Crawford Wethington, Alto Saxophone; Gene Anderson, Piano; Willie Hightower and Homer Hobson, Trumpet; Fred Robinson, Trombone, as well as Zutty Singleton, Drums. This brilliant record was made in 1928.
